Google Merchant product video checker & video_link builder
Check your final video before adding it to a product. This local preflight checks technical metadata and URL structure, then prepares supplemental feed fields for your existing product ID. It does not upload your video, fetch its URL or submit anything to Google.

Does this submit a product video to Google?
No. It reads your local file and prepares a report plus feed snippets. You host the video and update your Merchant Center data source yourself.
Is the generated snippet a complete product feed?
No. It contains only id and video_link. Use it as a supplemental update associated with existing products, or merge the fields into your complete primary feed. Keep the existing ID unchanged.
Can this verify that Googlebot can download the video?
No network request is made to pasted video URLs. The tool checks their text and likely structure only. Server responses, authentication, robots rules, geoblocking and redirects need a separate hosting check.
Why is a link to my product page unsuitable?
A page with a video player is different from the underlying video file. For a non-YouTube link, supply the public raw-video resource. A URL without a filename can still work if the host actually serves a supported video, so it is flagged for review rather than declared invalid.
Does passing guarantee video approval or impressions?
No. Hosting, visual quality, rights, product relevance and Google’s processing remain outside the local technical check. The video attribute also does not determine approval of the product offer itself.
Why does the example URL need a hosting check?
It is deliberately an illustrative example.com address. Loading the example shows how the report and feed fields work; it is not a real hosted product video.
